Reflection of 2016:

In the history of Saint Pius X Catholic School 2016 all Terms were hard work and fun, In Term 1 testing, term 2 yr 8’s retreat , Term 3 Rainbow's End and Term 4 Camp. The most fun for me is Term 4 because at Camp we got to do activities free time we can walk anywhere anytime in the night and day but we never got payed.

But there was a problem when we went there,  1 of the girls accidentally fell off a cliff the cliff was not steep but the streaming water looked deep the girl fell in the water and was knocked out cold on a big wood branch all of the teachers and Parents told us to step back and then they tried to get her out but they couldn't so all the boys were brainy and made a wire like when we all hold each other's hands then hold on tight I was the one in front I grabbed her and I told the boys to all pull and we did Pio and Pate was pulling as hard as they can and it worked, we all gathered around and Mr Coakley ran towards us to push the girls heart and all the Water came out of her mouth and then when she was feeling alright all the boys got in trouble but we got treated with good food so whenever we eat dinner launch breakfast we eat something different/better and it was nice to eat.

As the days passed we started to get tired and homesick the day we left in the bus we were tired and started to sleep some of us, then when we got to school most of us left early and some stayed and waited until school was finished like me it was a cool experience I hope we get to do it again next year.

IF OUR PETS COULD TALK!

Learn - To use good sentences in my writing. A good sentence has a subject and a verb.
I am learning to use 3 type of sentences which is are simple sentences, compound sentences and also complex sentences.

If pets could speak it would be adorable and more helpful. If we told them what to do they would understand and would answer back, for example if we told them that they were going to have a shower then they could either refuse or accept it and say "no I wouldn't like to" or "yes I would like to".


I have a dog, he is a Golden Retriever and I named him Philip he acts so nice and adorable at times but when he sees and hears other dogs and cars go past, he barks and tries to run after them. I struggle to hold him with his lead collar, but this seems to make him choke.


I wish dogs could talk, it would be really really really supportive for me, because he would be able to help me do chores around the house.

Learning about Cybersmart

Constable Gordon came to talk to Room 7 about Cybersmart.

There was a part where I was interested and worried about when he said online texting because I have been involved with online texting before. I was very impatient to find out more about online texting and I did but not much, I learnt from constable that when you send any disturbing messages and if you delete it, the people who owns the site you sent the text on will still see it and they will report it.

Narrative Writing The Trolls

One day there lived two trolls, one was a girl troll, full of joy and happiness. The other troll  was a  boy who was angry and did not like to do much things. All he liked to do, was to walk around looking disappointed like an angry bird, but instead was named an angry troll.

As night came by they grabbed their blankets and cuddled up by the fire. While the boy troll was lying down, the girl troll sang a song about the stars to calm her down. But the boy troll said something to stop her from singing, “her seriously more singing” the boy troll said to her, then the girl troll replied “yes more singing”.

The boy troll liked peace and quiet at night, but since the girl troll was with him, he could not have a peaceful sleep. But as the boy troll turned around to sleep, the girl troll grabbed a guitar out of nowhere and played it. Singing and as she did, it felt magical to her because monsters shone and came out of nowhere singing with her. Then suddenly the boy troll asked if he could use the girl trolls guitar, and as she gave it to him the boy troll threw it into the fire. Then the girl troll said to him “why did you do that for! That was my only guitar!” But the boy troll did not answer he just walked on back to his bed and slept, leaving the girl troll standing there regretting that she gave her guitar to boy troll. THE END.

My Experiences About The Road Show Science

Today I went to Tamaki College with my Class (Room 7) for a Science Roadtrip where 2 people come up and show us many interesting experiments involving Sound and other strange materials.

My class had to split up and go to each of our parent's car who had a spare seat for us to ride to Tamaki College, I went with Motu’s mum and there were another 5 who came with us, it was Asipeli, Samiuela, Anthony, Pio & Motu, as we got in the car me and Wela went to the back and Pio, Asipeli & Anthony were squashed up in the middle and in the front of them was Motu’s mum & Motu.

As we got there we went inside a big hall with some other visitors and a school named Saint Helier’s, inside the hall was lots of stations that had Science Projects, my thinking was like wow but we were not heading to the Science Projects we were heading to a bunch of chairs with half of us sitting on one side and the other half on the other side with Saint Helier’s in the middle with some adults sitting in the front of them, as we sat down they were explaining stuff about

Goal: My goal is to focus on developing my Ideas

In the holiday I went to my cousins house for 1 whole week, we played Bo3 on his Playstation 4, my cousin is a Pro at Bo3 he can trickshot quickscope hardscope and can do a 360 no scope. Bo3 stands for Black Ops 3 it is a shooting game where you can play online with other players or offline, but me and my cousin were playing offline we were versing in this map called Nuketown we were playing gun game it was fun because I actually got to beat him once but when we reversed he won because I was making him angry, anyways gun game is whenever you kill someone you get a new gun, for example every time I kill my cousin I get a new gun, everytime he kills me he gets a new gun as well so that's gun game but the reason why we did not play online was because I sucked versing other people online because as soon as I spawn I get spawn trapped but for the rest of that week me and my cousin just ate, played video games and cleaned the house.

What is a Soul Friend?
A Soul Friend is someone you look after, love and you can talk to them anything you want.

Where did Soul Friends it come from?
It came from the Ireland tradition from the Holy Faith Sisters.

How does my Soul Friend work here in St Pius X?

  1. Today the whole of my school (SPX) went in our church to celebrate our Soul Friends mass the feast day of St Patrick on the 17th of March 2016.

My Narrative Structure Of The Sons Of Ma'afu

Structure of Narrative Story

The sons of Ma’afu.
I am showing you that I can identify the structure of a narrative by using the text I read


ORIENTATION -
Where did it took place: When did it happened:  Who is in the story?
Characters: Ma’afu, Ma’afutoka, Ma’afulele, villagers, a fierce giant duck,
Where: In a village in tonga.
When: Long ago.
COMPLICATION - What is the problem?
  1. The first problem was Ma’afutoka & Ma’afulele used Ma’afu as a target to throw spears at him to see who was the closest and they almost killed him.
SEQUENCE OF EVENT - Plot -  What happened in sequence?  You can bullet point the main events.
  • People were chasing after Ma’afutoka & Ma’afulele.
  • The villagers thought both of them a lesson and sent them to Atavahea.
  • Boys go to the waterhole.
  • Duck attacked the boys.
  • Boys killed the duck.
  • They filled their coconut shells to show their dad that they are sorry.
  • People chase them away aging to teach them another lesson.
  • Boys go to the waterhole.
  • Triggerfish attacked them.  
  • Boy killed the triggerfish.
  • Boy went back to the village.
RESOLUTION - How was the problem solved?
The problem was solved because the chief agreed to what the villagers said and he sent them to get water from Atavahea.
CONCLUSION:
In the end Ma’afutoka & Ma’afulele went to live in the sky, and on clear nights there father and the villagers could still see them.
